1985 speedometer/speed sensor problem HELP
My '85 has a speedometer/speed sensor issue. Speedometer works fine when I drive the car around for the first 10-15 min of driving in cold condition. Then I'll look back at it and it's fluctuating then eventually goes and stays at 0 not long after. I'll park the car for an hour and the speedometer will still be at 0. But every time I park it for the night and drive it much later, like in the morning, speedometer is back to working fine. I'm quite positive it is the speed sensor, but what I want to know is what the malfunction is? Is the sensor losing voltage under hot conditions? I'm not a knowledgeable corvette guy, so I'll need some opinions or answers. If it helps, I had the computer replaced recently so I figure I could rule out the connection to the ECM, as this problem was apparent long before.
