Automatic shifter ?
I have a 1989 with a automatic Trans. When I put the shifter in "R "I have no slack. Meaning the shifter barely moves. When I put the shifter in Overdrive I have more back and forth movement. As I put the shifter in D and in 2nd the back and forth movement gets worse. Iam not able to but the shifter in 1st gear.
I have adjusted the shifter like the manual said. So does the cable streach over time and do I need to replace the shifter cable? Or what else can I do??

Man i have the same problem except i dont have slack sloppy in OD, only in 2nd and D, it dont bother much but at the track yes, most of the time i end up in D instead of 2 shifting from 1st. I think its the shifter linkage not the cable. Iam in market for a used one, lookn aggressively for a used one. Hope someone chime in here.
