Well i attempted to fix oil leaks, was hoping it was just my intake and valve covers but it was not so. Still leaking pretty badly and to my ears i hear a faint faint knock is what it sounds like. I have a 94 6 speed with 160k miles on it.
So now im just going to pull the motor to fix the leaks but while i have it out I was thinking might as well rebuild? Any kits i can pick up? was thinkin maybe i can go 383 while its out? Lookin to keep the $$ down. If staying stock is way cheaper i will just do that. I am open to any suggestions.

I would love to have my 1994 C4 rebuilt, but, in California...I worry about passing emissions. If I do, I will probably just do a standard rebuild.
I'd like to find a local guy that's good....I'm tired of doing this sort of thing.

Something you might look at is going minimum overbore and build it like a LT4 hybrid with the hotcam kit. That should improve performance and keep cost down. Go to GM performance parts for info.
