Tachometer questions
Does anyone know where the digital tach on an '89 gets its RPM reading from? Is it a sensor, or a direct conection to the ignition????
My Tachometer is jumping around wildly for a few seconds at a time (only occasionally though), and it's becoming bothersome. Anyone had this problem?

Does the needle bounce when you hit bumps? I noticed mine will hop a little bit even over small bumps. I was going to post something to see if this is normal, or if maybe I have a loose ground. I don't know if we're experiencing the same thing, it sounds like yours might be more severe. :confused:

I wish that was it, but no....I have the digital cluster, and it's not just happening over bumps.

Stupid me. Sorry, I think the first part of your post went right through my head. Even that's no excuse for not seeing you have an 89 in your sig.

Hey, what about calling Mid America? I know they upgrade and reprogram those dashes, so maybe they'd be able to answer your question or shed some light on the subject.
