'86 Vette Power Steering issue
3 AM in the morning...no cell phone with me, it got to the point my check engine light would come on as I got to a slow speed of 15 MPH, and then the engine would just cut out, as I approached red lights. I'd restart the engine and a minute later, the check engine light would appear. This happened 4 times.
Got home...this morning I noticed when I lifted the hood...the Power Steering fluid apparently shot through the 'breathe hole' of the PS resevoir, coating the underside hood of nearly all the fluid.
I refilled with PS fluid, and as I began to pull out of the driveway...all I heard was a weird 'groaning' noise as I attempted to turn the wheel right or left. Shut it down.
Any idea as to what may have happene?
What to do?
Thanks!!

Gordon Killebrew advises using Lucas Power Steering additive. He says that if this doesn't bring the seals back to life then it is time to replace/rebuild. I do not know of a source for rebuilding them though.
