Window does not go up or down, just clicks when button is used. I have the door panel off, and am at a stand still already. Can someone school me please. Dave
You can swap the window switches if you need to...it can narrow it down if its the switch or not.
If the switch is good, can you see if the plastic window ribbon slit in half?
These window regulators use a long white toothed ribbon to push or pull the glass down...if they snap in the right place the motor will spin, but the glass dont move.Do you get any spin at the motor?
JUst trying the basics here first...it can be a bad motor,if it gets power but doesnt want to turn either way except click.

Hold the drivers window switch down for 10 seconds. Now try and run the passenger side window. If it doesn't work, it means the drivers window switch is tripping the thermal fuse. This happens when the motor is getting current, but not moving. This would mean your wiring is fine, and that the motor is shot or the regulator is jammed.
If the passenger side still works after this test, then it may be your switch. Since you've got the door panel off you should be able to send 12V directly to the motor harness, or check the voltage when using the switch.
If you need a new motor or regulator, I suggest you toss yours in the garbage and buy the better designed one out of a late86-96 vette, and install it per these instructions:
