Does anyone know where I can pick up some good quality brushed aluminum pedals? You know, the ones that have the holes drilled in them? I found some cheapo ones at WallMart, but I decided to pass. I would assume for $14 the quality could not have been too good
Well, I got a $20 pair at Pep Boys back when I still had a Mitsu. Eclipse, and I was actually very surprised....five years of trouble free "service" out of them, and actually several compliments. The guy I sold it to loved 'em. (Haven't put any on the new baby yet, but thinkin' about it)
I wouldnt use them...they do work but the problem is the stock pedals are pretty close together..when you add on them racing pedals, youre going tomake them even closer..It may depend on the brand though...I tried them once and every time I went to step on the gas my shoe would hit the brake pedal cover..check clearances first before using those and see if they cause interference with your foot when they are on there.
Taking my foot off the gas would always "grab" the end of the brake cover.
Got frustrated and threw them away.
:(
Sparco makes a set. Check out http://www.ogracing.com. They don't look like those cheapo walmart stuff.
OGRacing is located in Manassas Virginia zip 20109.
Looks like the web site is down right now.
I bought some for $25 at Napa. Fit was good. No foot overlap issues for me. I did gain about an extra 1/2 inch of extra leg room. I always had a problem with the angle my left foot would have to take to left foot brake on the road course. By removing the rubber pad on the brake I gained an extra 1/2 inch that helped out on the angle.
I got mine from Nopi Performance, its actually an import performance company, but pedals are pedals. Mine are no closer then the stock and the holes in them are raised so you dont get much slippage. ( unless your wearing dress shoes ) I think I paid around $100 for them a couple of years ago. :seeya
My suggestion is pick up a ricer magazine, you dont have to buy it.:D In there you will find more pedals than you can shake a stick at. I got my Momos from Nopi and am really pleased with them. They fit perfect and still look new when I wipe them off. think I payed about 60 buks for a gas and a brake pedal. Let us know what you get.:)
If you get pedals, according to ricer mags, you will gain 25 hp and a full .5 sec off the 1/4 mile (I can make fun of ricers b/c I used to be one). :D :D :D
I bought the cheapo metal pedal covers from Autozone. They have a mouse clipon system that fails instantly.
I through drilled the covers and the pedals and bolted them together; and have had good service since.
