This is a long one.My friend hasn't been able to open his hood, the passenger side release was stuck. So following fellow forum members advice I removed the wheel well and tried to to pull on the release cable with a coat hanger. It turns out the cable broke off from the clip that is attached to the release mechanism which is in front of the hood spring. So I tried to pry the the release mechanism with every imaginable tool but it wouldn't budge. Is there any way to get this thing open with out pulling the front end of the car off? Any suggestions welcomed
Check the Mid America Catalog. I believe there's a tool sold specificately for this problem. You might also check with a local club or Corvette repair shop as they might have one you could "borrow".
That I don't know. I'm sure they have one though. This is a common problem. Luckly I haven't had it yet. Maybe someone in your area will see the post and lend a hand.
