I just had my rear tires replaced. One of the LWTPS slipped - the band was loose, and as a result the band broke when they dismounted the tire. This explains the moving unbalance that I was experiancing about 6 month's ago. Anyway, since they did not have another band, they installed one of the tires with out the sensor. I was expecting the LWTPS dash light to come on, but it did'nt. Why?
BTW, the tires I replaced were non runflats. If the LWTPS dash light does not come on (with the sensor off) I don't want the sensor back on - and I'll have the other sensor taken off.
I have LTPWS on my car, too. I took my stock wheels off and put a set of ZR1 wheels on it without moving the sensors over. I figured my LTPWS light would be on immediately, but it wasn't. It took about 150 miles I think for it to finally come on, but it hasn't gone out since. Weird, I don't understand it... oh well! I'll probably move the sensors when I get new tires on these wheels.
Good luck -
Mike
