Default Help with Auto 4 transmission!!!!!

I tried to put my car in D and the button wouldn't budge to move the lever out of Park... This has happened before but I have always been able to get it unstuck, but this time the button wont budge... Any suggestions???

I would check the cable that runs from your brake pedal to your shifter.
Thats the lock out cable.
Thats so you cant put your car in drive without appling the brake

I would start with that

Doesn't that run to the steering column so you have to be in Park before you can remove the key?

Im kinda new to all this corvette stuff and working on it... I just bought the car about 3 weeks ago... Its a 95 with the LT1.

I have noticed that when it works, i hear a click from around the steering column, but when its not working, it doesn't make the click... Im really confused, because I went out to my car this morning and it shifted out of park just fine...

I am having a problem with the auto tranny in my 79 L-82. While the car is running, if I move the lever into any position it will not do anything. Will not go to reverse, drive or anything. I am going to look at the above advice first, but does anyone have any other ideas?
