Venting a fuel cell with TPI
Hey all I am running a 25 gallon aluminum fuel cell in my TPI setup and when i start it it just sucks and sucks till the top of the fuel cell starts to collapse. How should it be vented to fresh air? roll over vent? some kind of check valve? I have the vapor line hooked to the canister directly. Is there some kind of valve that should be in line?

Is your line to the canister clear?
Worst case if you were not worried about pollution is a open vent with some kind of filter to stop crap being drawn into tank.
But then you will probably be smelling fumes when the hot return fuel expands and vapourizes in the tank.

The line to the canister is clear. Doesnt it draw vapor from the fuel cell to the canister then in to the engine? The problem is it IS sucking to the vapor canister but there is no place for the air to come in to replace it in the fuel cell. I think the cap in the fuel cell should be vented somehow but isnt. It is a summit fuel cell.

Got the whole fuel system loose in the shed , will check in morning.
From memory the tank has only one vent (to canister) the cap is non vented so the vent line must be able to work both ways.
The RCI fuel cell I have for my race car has a vent fitting seperate to the cap.

The JAZ fuel cells state vented cap on their ad every where it is listed but the summit ones do not and neither do the RCI ones. wonder if i could get a JAZ cap or if there is an AN fitting with a vent avalible somewhere besides a rollover.

What part# is your Summit fuel cell?
No 25gal listed on site but all the other alum tanks have a vent and state;
"Fuel cells feature bulkhead-style pickup, return, and vent fittings."
All you would need to do is to get a -AN bulkhead /flare fitting and install that with a line somewhere?
