Parking Brake/Emergency brake problem
I tried to use my parking brake/emergency brake today on a hill and when I came back, clicked the button and pushed it in the down position, the button locked and the brake lever moves up and down with little to no effort. The brake light is stuck on(on the dash), yet the car drives fine. I did notice a wierd smell in the right rear tire well after driving it home though.(I had this happen before, but it sort of just went away on its own after a while). Anyone know how to adjust this? TiA

Something is binding and preventing the E-brake from releasing. If the only brake that's overheating is the right rear, you'll have it narrowed down to either the mechanism on that side or the actuating cable on that side. Fix it before you drive the car anywhere else. You risk boiling the brake fluid, and/or roaching the brake linings/rotors.
