backfire
Were working on an 89 with a TPI automatic. The motor has been gone through at which time a mini ram intake, mild cam, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, and a chip burned by someone in Arizona were added. When you take of and hit the throttle hard were getting a backfire through the throttle body. Any idea's?

Sounds like a lean "pop" to me. When you hit the throttle, there is a considerable amount of additional airflow that will cause a lean spike (and a backfire or pop) if the additional fuel is not there to compensate for it. In terms of programming the chip, this is called acceleration enrichment. The Mini Ram generally requires a lot more acceleration enrichment than the stock programming.
Contact the chip programmer and have it re-burned.
