My Vette broke down!!
There was no code on the ECM, so it's not a sensor or computer problem. I'm hoping it's the fuel pump.
Ooh, I don't need to be singing those old optispark blues right now. Just got married, and we haven't seen the bills for the reception and honeymoon on our credit cards yet!!
It's gone to Ron Belter, at the Corvette Conenction in Lynn. I hear he's really good. Hope so.

-all wires tight
if no, tighten and ensure good connection try to start
if yes, check for spark with timing light
if no spark on plug wires, check for spark on coil wire if spark on the coil wire, opti unit is bad, if no spark on coil wire, it is either your coil, ($15 at advance) which i would replace first, if this does not solve the issue, it is probably your ignition control module, ($90 at advance), if this still does not solve the problem, it may be your ECM. :nonod:  this is more costly. not sure eactly how much, but i have seen them in junk yards for 100 bucks.
if your getting fuel its most likely spark, if your getting spark its most likely fuel, check fuel pressure, discharge fuel pressure by depressing pintile in fuel rail shrader valve, now, turn key on did fuel pressure return? did you here the fuel pump turn on? if yes to both, i would replace filter anyways, they clog quick. if no, find fuse box on passenger side and check that all fuses are intact and nort open circuited. if fuse is bad replace and try to restart. if all fuses are a go, check fuel pump leads with a voltmeter. getting voltage? if yes and no operation bad fuel pump. if getting operation, check injectors, (not sure if they can be checked with a multimeter or not, any help?) listen for operation, if firing, make sure all are firing. if not firing, are any? if none check injector fuses. all good? maybe ECM. just a few things to start with. mine did the same thing and it was the ignition control module. hope its something simple!
best of luck with it!
chris :smash:
I don't have the time, tools, or know-how to replace it myself, so I'm having a good Vette shop do it for me. While they're there, I'll have 'em change the water pump, fan belt, plugs, and wires. At least I should have better times at the track. I've been using the original plugs and wires at 72,000 miles, so I suppose it's time to change all these things. Oh well. The joys of Corvette ownership!! :D
