Default knock counts and fuel octane level

I have changed my injectors to 24lbs and i have the AXCN bin.
The things i have done so far is lowering the fan speeds and changing the injector constant.
I have also removed the 1-4 skip shift.
After that i have done 2 loggings and adjusted the VE table with VEmaster and it is getting better.
I guess i have few more runs before i´m pleased.
The thing that annoys me is the knock counts which still is there.
Will my final VEtable tuning fix the knock count problem or do i have to adjust the Sparktables ?
Maybe if i buy higher octane fuel it will help ,any ideas ?

Here is my latest TTS scan ,which i know is abit rich on fuel.

I have done a few more adjustments to my VE tables and the knock counts are now very few.
The throttle response is very smooth and nice.
Tuning is very rewarding.

Take some timing out where it knocks and see if that helps you. VE Master will only change the volumetric efficiency and nothing else.

Ill have a look at your log file soon (might not be tonight though)

Ok i had a quick look, what i would do if you have the equipment and ability to do so is check the base timing, if there is a setting in the ECM constants to tell the ECM the base timing make sure its set the same as you set the base to.

Then id scan again, and everytime you get a knock like youre getting, pull out 1 or 2 degrees from the spark advance table that is in use at the time of the knock, then scan it again and see how it goes.

P.S. Youre LT counts look pretty good to me, around 120-124 seemed to be pretty consistant, im not sure what youre number aiming for but that is reasonable. Maybe try getting it as even as you can at 121 and do another file aiming for 124 and see which one you feel works best for you.

I checked my spark plug and 2 of them were loose.
Rotor and cap is new as well ,becuse somebody had put cheap aluminium cap on it.
Runs very nice.

I haven´t checked the base timing but i will ,good tip.
Is that done the old fashioned way with timing light and markings ?
How many degrees is the original setting ?

The interesting thing about my tune is that i think the new injectors don´t have the same linearity as the old ones.
Since all injectors use a coil i think that a retune (VE) is needed when size/brand is changed due to linearity.
My injectors was bad when i bought my vette last year so maybe what i explain as "runs nice" now is what other people is experiencing all the time.

Yeah mate, unplug the EST control connector before you set the base timing, i dont have the full procedure here but its a pretty regular sort of a procedure anyway. The standard is either 6* or 8* im not sure which. 8* will do.

If the injector brand you used are different the the originals then the flow rate might be different, probably due to the fuel pressure they rate the injectors at. Ford injectors are rated at abit lower pressure.
