I'm debating whether to get the Muffler Eliminators with the Dynomax rear Y-pipe, or get the Flowmaster Cat-Back System from TPiS. Any ideas? I know the flowmaster system is a little bit bigger tubing (2¼" vs 2½")
Re: Anyone have the Flowmaster Setup from TPiS? (TIMSPEED)
I have the TPIS custom FlowMaster cat-back system and love it:
-dual black ZR-1 tips look great
-3 1/2" into dual 3" pipes provides lots of flow (see my page for gains)
-love the sound at part throttle (some resonance)
-sounds awsome at WOT
-they don't just bolt right up - I had to have a muffler shop in NJ cut and weld each Y-pipe to get those large mufflers to fit up. Vic89 has this system and the same issue with installation.
This system is a little pricy but I got em for the size of the pipes and wasn't disappointed with the performance gains. Please not that this system went in at the same time as Random Tech cat and 2 1/2" front Y-pipe though.

Vic, good luck. You're gonna love it. Next time we meet at Raceway Park you'll be in the 12s.
BTW, I guess 1 1/2 yrs of drag racing took it's toll. I just had both universals, $$$, replaced in the right half-shaft. Now I'm ready to see what she'll do (maybe Sun at Island Dragway)!

Timspeed,
65Z01 is right on the money. I have one my 89 and had one on my 86. They are NOT a bolt up and go exhaust. Some fitting/fabrication is required. I enjoy the sound(LOUD),but some find it objectionable. As far as looks go, it is mean looking!

Re: Anyone have the Flowmaster Setup from TPiS? (TIMSPEED)
I have a less expensive Flowmaster set-up that you may like.
You might want to consider duplicating what I've done.
I have a set of Flowmaster's that are regular aluminized muffs
with polished stainless tips. They sound great when you stand on it,
but aren't too intrusive when you wanna listen to yer tunes. I get alot
of compliments on the appearance.
These muffs are direct replacements for the OEMs.
Flowmaster also makes a replacement rear Y-pipe that fits
these muffs.
By the way, this system does not produce the ear splitting
resonance found in the TPIS system at certain RPM levels.
(According to Flowmaster's tech help)
This is a simple bolt in system, and it works great. The only
difference is that you buy it all separately and pay less
than for other systems.
Contact Flowmaster tech help for part #'s.
Re: Anyone have the Flowmaster Setup from TPiS? (Vic'89)
I've had the TPIS flowmaster catback installed for over two years now and still hate it. I'll get a CORSA system after I get my engine mods finished. The fit and quality are pure crap. Also, the TPIS system is way overpriced IMO. Personally, I would say very far away from this vendor.
Re: Anyone have the Flowmaster Setup from TPiS? (LT4POWR)
I have had the TPIS cat back system for many years (maybe 8 yrs). I did not have all the problems with fit as you guys are mentioning. One complaint, the tips extend too far out the back. The point really came home when I found my 4 yr old son standing on the exhaust tips to get something off the back of the car. Great step!!!
Took the system off, cut approx. 2" off the ends (removed the somewhat squared tips), recoated with high temp black. Fit great under the back. You may be able to see the ends in the sig photo. I have had various other systems on my other vettes, but like the TPIS Flowmaster set-up best. I do get a considerable break on the pricing due to my long term relationship with TPIS and my business #.
BTW, I also have the TPIS long tubes and a single 3.5" off road tube in place of the cat.
