They're a little tricky to get a hold of because the company has had some trouble with Manufacturing (I think) but you can find good used ones occasionally.
As far as I know, nobody makes real sidepipes.
The side effects to me aren't real, they still go under the driveshaft and then make a turn back to the front and the exit to the side.
I've been thinking about having the local muffler shop bend some 3" 90's to hook up to the header flanges and making my own sidepipes from 3 1/2 or 4" . Might take a few tries to get it right, but shouldn't be too hard.

Ground-clearence... but I have seen ads in various Hot Rod type magazines for flat tubeing, including 90s,45s and other related stuff. That would give you some additional room under the frame rails. I happened to see a Cobra a few months ago, with some great looking side pipes. The guy popped the hood and all he had were shorty headers to a 2" pipe connecting to the sidepipes. Cobra sidepipes are coated and very inexpensive but they are short, only about 3 1/2 feet so they wouldn't work on a vette unless they are lengthened.
