I have a late 86 with Aluminum heads and am finding small amounts iof coolant in the oil. I have been told that the likely source is a leak through the intake manifold gasket (I have noticed a small amount of whaite smoke on startup after setting for a long time). Does this sound reasonable and is replacing the intake manifold gaskets a difficult task?
the intake is not really hard, you just need gaskets and fuel rail o-rings.
make a fuel line plug with a pencil with the lead broken off of it, and sort of screw it into the leaking lines.
Take lots of digital pics, and put them on your computer so you can print as necessary. change the rocker cover gaskets as well, and inspect everything.
This would be a good time to change the dist. cap, wires, rotor, spark plugs, belt, all hoses.
