wayward idle speed
I'm anew member, and relatively new vette owner. I have a 94, with only 35k miles. When the car is fully warmed up on a warm day the idle speed tends to rise while in drive, and the car wants to lunge or surge when at a stop light. I have to keep my foot firmly on the brake. Also the temp will go upto 228 b4 the fans kick on....is this normal? I've been told the idle may be caused from the IAC (Idle Air Control) Car is fairly stock with the exception of a 3.73 gear, SLP cat back system, and SLP cold air unit - idle issue was there b4 I put on the air unit. Any thoughts??

I'd start by cleaning the throttle body, IAC motor pintle, then check for vacuum leaks. You can find the how-to articles in the C4 TechTips section on this forum.
Cleaning the TB and IAC really mellows the base idle and improves throttle response, too. I do it annually.
