b& m shifter install problems
well i have the tranny setting on the floor and am still having problems with the install. it is saying to drive out the pin connecting the shifer ahqaft to the tranny by pounding it out fdrom the bottom. the issue is it is flush. so when i hit it no matter wht i use it bounches tothe side and would budge the pin. the pin is a 1/4 in ch lower from the top but i just can't get toit. this one a lot harder thenthe b&m, inm my 2005!!! please help i know you guys are doing it in the car so i figured out it be a cake walk........

Bouncing? What sort of hammer are you using? I used a 3 lb sledge and a punch. With the proper tools that pin came out in 30 seconds. and that was with my hunched up undre the car in a pool of blood and motor oil

I did mine under the car with exhaust on. I custom made a long punch and used a 16oz hammer while laying on my back with car on jack stands. I did have to whack it pretty good though. Once pin was far enough up, I pulled stock shifter up and out of car. I put the pin back on the bottom so I had to knock it back up and flush with the shaft to reattach it.
