Weather STrip residue
I am in the process of removing the weather stripping from around the targa top, doors, etc.
The stock stuff is just crumbling apart and sections staying stuck into tight places.
I have some stuff called Krud Kutter that was recomended to me that is suppose to be good for tar, wax, oil, grime, grease, glue and adhesive etc.
I was curious if anyone had used it before as with the fiberglass body I do not want a bad reaction with this stuff.
It claims to be ok on plastic and fiberglass and many other surfaces as well.

I believe there are solvents specifically for removing weather strip adhesive; one of those would be the safest choice.

If it says safe for paint, try it sparingly.

That 3M stuff should be at any Pepboys, Autozone type store. Its a small metal can, silver in color with a black top.

Most auto paint supply stores have the 3M Weather Strip Adhesive Remover for sale. Look in the Yellow Pages for auto paint supplies and call those stores who carry 3M products. Done deal

i used goo gone on mine, it worked alright. only problem was in the fine print, dont let it dry on the paint, it might ruin it. I was lucky to read it before letting it sit out before tackling it.
Word of advice for prolonging the life of your weatherstripping. If you have cracks and rips on worn weatherstripping but it is not bad enough to replace yet, use compound silicone and fill in the cracks. It will help you out in the long run! its a great fix
