I bought one for my other car and was told by a machinest that the crank would have to be re-balanced for the new dampner. It also weighed much more than the stock dampner but I guess thats good when the rpms are already up.
I went through this exercise back in April so I think I can help. At first, I bought an external balance Fluidamper but that turned out to be wrong. I think it's for 383's and 400's and their variants. Our stock displacement 350's are internally balanced on the front and externally balanced on the back. They have a neutral balancer and a counterweighted flywheel.
I chose the streetdamper from Summit because I wasn't racing and it seems to smooth things out in the upper RPM ranges.
