91-92 Sawblades - some question..
I have 335 rear tires.
Currently I have installed 2 front 9-1/2" 1991 sawblades CHROMED and at the rear 11" 1991 ZR1 sawblades CHROMED . (all 4 purchased from a forum member in medium-good conditions)
...not plaesed on the 11" rims wih 335 tires, I bought (from another forum member) 2 rear 1991 or 1992 11" wide ENLARGED to 12" , both CHROMED.
I 've not yet installed but they are in very good shape.
This winter I had a very big problem. With the car stored waiting the new engine, some water (..or condensation) has completely ruined all 4 sawblades rims. the chrome is ruined with "leaf" situation.
Queston1: Is it true that factory chromed sawblades when in this situation are prone to crack/break in pieces (with ALL THE SAFE problems connected..)?
-I remember a thread that describe this situation but I can't find it in the archive-
Question 2: Chromed rims can be de-chromed..stripped? how?
Question 3: Knowing that at the end I WANT TO USE the 12" rear enlarged rims, knowing that he finish painted, polished, machined, chromed (if safe..), polished with clearcoat.... is NOT IMPORTANT to me.. knowing that I have also an additional set of 2 9-1/2" 1991 sawblades in like-new condition (silver painted), knowing that i have so little money (
) . ... Which can be the final decision to have 4 wheels in good shape with the same finish, with the less effort? Sorry.. too much questions..
