One day I was driving along and turned the radio on, the antennae went up halfway then just stopped and I can't seem to get it down. Because of this I cannot turn the radio on or use my cd player since I am guessing everything is hinging on getting the antennea up. Any clue what would be wrong? Easy/cheap fix?
My 84 is on it's third antennea. There is a cable in there that moves the antennea up and down and they break. I have seen the cables for sale, but could not make the repair work, so just bought a new antennea from http://www.tld-corvette.com and replaced it. Good Luck
I've replaced the cable before, but not on my Corvette. Most are nylon, kinda like grass trimmer line. I'd at least give it a try. Worst case you have to buy a new antenna.
Buy the way, if the cable is broken you should be able to pull it all the way up. Then you can disconnect the motor (leave the antenna cable connected) and use your radio.
