Default why retard timing for 100 shot?

My question is that NX says you do not have to retard timing up to a 150 shot, yet other companys like NOS, and ZEX say you need to retard timing 4 degrees for a 100 shot?

Im currently looking at the zex wet kit, NOS Single Fogger Sniper Wet Kit, and also the nx.

I have had 2 zex dry system on 2 of my cars, I was thinking of the sniper system because of the price but I do not want the hassle of retarding my timing everytime I feel the need to use the kit .

retarding the timing when using nitrous prevents detonation, the easiest way to do this if your planning on using nitrous alot is to get a msd retard box when can be wired into the solenoids so once they are activated the timing is automatically retarded how many degress you set it to, so normal driving the timing will be at whatever you have it set to, you have to have an msd ignition box to use it though....b/c if it ever detonates it causes alot of problems

I ended up getting a nx wet kit with a 15lb bottle, they say you dont have to retard timing, but ill add some of their octane boostjust to be safe.

Rule of thumb 1 1/2 deg for every 50 hp

....for a wet 100 shot, I don't think you'll need to retard, especially those NX systems.....I do like them.

I have NOS with 100-150 shots, with both 100 and 150 the manual says, stock timing, stock fuel pump. But i retard some and upgrade to Tpis bigger fuel pump. Its better to be safe than sorry,

If u dont have MSD 6AL box, than i would highly recommend Crane fireball box for $319, its better quality than MSD and also it includes Timing retard box too and infact it dont take pills like MSD retard box, but crane retard box has a **** while sitting in drivers seat just turn **** whatever timing retard u want, connect wire to Nitrous solenoids, whenever u hit activation ON button it retards timing. Good luck.

Ill keep that in mind, but im trying to keep it somewhat low budget b/c of school and my other car. Thanks for the info though.

When in doubt...retard the timing and I agree that a timing retard box is a great way to go. For 100 hp I would retard the timing 2 to 3 degrees depending on the compression and the camshaft. If you are running racing gas you can get away without any timing retard if the nitrous power levels are on the lower side.
