Default AC working now, thanks SunCr

Thanks SunCR for you guidance. I finally got around to fixing my air conditioning. I got the EPA 609 License at www.epatest.com (very easy), R12 and a recharge hose with a gauge from eBay. My compressor was short cycling and my static pressure was close to what the pressure temperature chart says it should be so I knew I had some R12 in the system. One 12oz can of R12 was all it took to get the compressor to stay on and the pressure stays close to 30psi and the vent temperature is about 45 deg. Total cost $70. 609 license $20, recharge hose $25, can of R12 $25. Very cool.

Glad to hear it. I am currently spending $$ as fast as I can get it on AC parts too in an effort to get mine fixed before it gets too hot down here...
