I want to ditch my visors, haven't dug into the romoval too much yet, but just glancing at it I see no mounting bolts. Are these just a press fit into a clip of some sort, what does it take to remove the.
I don;t use them, and I like the look with the top out better without the visors sticking out in the air.
On mine there is an access hatch under the roof, there are screws to remove the plastic plate. Then there was a nut, and a round metal keeper thing, plus a spring, if I remember right. You remove the nut and turn or pull out the round thing, then put the cover back on. I removed the visors on mine to and I can see so much better, I love it!
Take the top out, there is a small plate with 2 or 3 screws in it. Take this plate out and you can see the visor shaft where it is held by a round press on style clip with a spring under it. Just take the clip off but wear safety glasses, that spring is going to go flying along with the clip.
Remember to pack a baseball cap or something with a visor to wear
when driving at sunset (and sunrise). I keep a spare in a compartment
behind the seat now after being forgetful a few times.
I ride my bike most days and I am use to nothing to shield the eyes I guess. removed them in my camaro years back and think it just looks cleaner with the top out. Probably sell them on ebay just to add to my wheel money.
Taking those out is pretty self-explanatory, the biggest pain is getting that ring-shaped press-on clip off the bolt. Once that's off I think the next step is simply yanking on the visor from the bottom and out it comes. Unplugging the electrical connectors going to the visor is also necessary and is a pain.

I just replaced both visors, took about an hour. Most of the time spent was on the drivers side spring and disc removal.

I did mine in about 5 minutes (this assumes, of course, that the targa top is off).
It went so quickly because I happened to already own the ultimate sunvisor disc removal tool (see pic). You hook under the disc and spin it off like a nut while pulling up. Comes right off, no worries (no flying, no safety glasses, no nada--just comes off).
Where does the wire unplug in the visor or under the plate at top of windshield? Or did you just cut it.
You can unscrew the trim piece that runs along the bottom side of the windshield header and bend the end down a bit. The wire is right there, easy as pie.
