Default Rear Suspension Question

I am getting ready to drop the rear leaf spring out of my '90. The spring cushions and insulators are all dried up, cracked and nasty looking and I figured that I would replace them since the spring is coming out. I am referencing the FSM, pages 3D-2 and 3D-3 which is the rear suspension legend. I am after items 10, 11, and maybe 12 while I'm in there. Item 12 are the spring spacers. Do any of you know where I can get the part numbers for these, are they even still availible? I have already tried gmpartsdirect.com to no avail and the local GM parts counter is pretty useless. I generally get better customer service from Wal-Mart than I do from those clowns!

Thanks in advance,

Adam.

From memory VB&P sells a poly bushing kit with the metal washers. Other places might to.

Why change the spring spacers (shims)? They don't wear out! Be careful to note the positions of the spacers, both above and below the spring, since they will effect the ride height. The FSM has a chart that defines these positions for the coupe or convertible, and should match your configuration. I agree with Aardwolf, change the cushions to polyurethane. Good luck! Mark
