I have a Dewitts radiator. The quality is very good and I would recomend it. Overall my temps did go down. If there is another problem with your coolant system. A high quality radiator upgrade alone probably won't solve it.
Identical problem here. Went to a Corvette show today and won the 50/50 drawing, which now pays for the new radiator, upper and lower hoses I am going to put in on Monday. Good timing!
I just came in to sit down and take a break. Got it all done except for the three little screws on the driver's side of the shroud. These are the biggest PITA of the whole job. Everything else is pretty much straight up and easy to get to.
What would be the property temp I would need to reprogram in the computer? And what degree thermo do you recommend? Anything else I would need to get the full benefits of this unit?

I have a DeWitts in my 84 cooling a 383 in AZ. During the summer it rarely goes over 215 with the AC running in traffic- before the switch I would turn off the AC when it reached 235. I have a 180 Tstat and fan switch to match. I had a brass/copper 3 core for a while and it did not get close to keeping it cool in the summer.
Is the DeWitt's radiator spendy. Yep... Is it worth it? I guess it depends on perspective. My vote is yes it is.
Anyone recommend a great way to prep the car for the new rad? I was planning on flushing out whatever I can out of the block. Anything else I would need to do?

Understandably you're being diplomatic. I'd guess that he has other problems that he's not addressed and chooses to blame your radiator rather than to find out what's actually wrong. When someone throws money at a problem instead of actually trying to figure it out, someone else has to get the blame I guess.
I guess for a '93, she held up pretty well. Never had a problem.
About 2 weeks ago, I noticed my Low Coolant light on. I added some in the overflow tank, and the next day the light was back. Today I noticed a pretty nice leak, and further examination I found the side tank on the pass, cracked the length of the tank.
exact same thing happened to mine, except the crack was only about 5" long. I went with a regular, couldn't afford a dewitt.
