The title pretty much explains it all, which one is better. the SLP "claw" intake or TPiS's cold-air intake. and another question is, are any of these intakes any better than a K&N filter with and open lid?
Ive noticed that some forum members say that its junk but right there is proof that it adds 3 horsepower. I dont think 3 horsepower is worth 200 dollars but if you got the $$ go for it. Read vader86s site and he says go with the K&N and cut lid. Both add a little horsepower. Ones cheaper than the other. If your on a budget just do the filter/lid.
The numbers I had seen showed that most any gain from the after-market kits were only realized at the very high end but for daily driving there was no real benefit. The K&N w/cut lid pretty much kept right up with those kits as well.....I saved the money and went the K&N route.
Is the claw the one with the three cone filters? That is a for looks mod only. How could it do anything better then the stock filter? The TPIS unit says "care must be taken in wet weather" that seems odd. I have the A/O front scoop, it has no trouble with water.

I had the "SLP" intake for about four years now.....its a good look and thats about it. Save your money on a real mod or a fresh set of injectors from FIC.
I have the SLP Claw, but I wouldn't pay full price for one. I snagged a used one on fleabay for $60 and bought new filters for it. Looks and sounds nice, but I doubt if you'd notice any gains.
