Hey guy's if I install a elec. waterpump on my Vette will it be reliable when driving it on the street? How long will it last and will I gain anything when I take it to the Strip? Where can I go with the small heater hose that goes into the stock pump? Will I have to modify any of the brackets that mount on the front of the stock pump? THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP Pipe
I recently bought a Meziere HD electric water pump. I could have really used it between runs a couple of weeks ago at the track. My temp on the last run was around 204 degrees. With the EWP you can hook it up to run the pump with the engine off between runs at full pressure. I believe it gets full pressure all the time which could benefit in traffic also. I heard it may be good for around 5 to 8hp. There shouldnt be any problem on the street as long as you run a light indicating failure. You can contact the company of the WP you are looking at for life expextancy. Ask yourself how much you drive the car each day. For me it's only about 20 minutes each way to work and a few hours on the weekends. It should last a long time.
Thanks for all the replys. Still wonderin what to do with the small heater hose that goes in the side of the stock pump? I guess I can just run a ground and hot wire with a toggle in the cockpit to turn the pump on and off. Pipe

Had one for I guess four years and I'm a believer in them. today the thermo said 91 degrees and it never went over 174 degrees in rush hour stop n go traffic. Running a stroker motor with a lot of compression so if an N/A was to run hot, it would be this one.
Do a 160 degree thermo, clean both your radiator and condensor and program the fans to come on in the low 160 range and I'd expect you'd be quite happy. David Vizzard says cars make the most power around 170 degree water temp.
Quite honestly not sure exactly what you do get in addition power as that's something I've never played with on the dyno but I wouldn't hold my breath for anything earth shaking, it's all good however.
