The digidash...well I am trying to find someone closer to home to check it out because it went wacky a while back then went to normal and its been a while so if I can find someone closer here, then go ahead and rebuild it but I dont want to send it to Ecklers. Two-four weeks is to long for me.
Few issues I am working on that I have noticed but not really huIrting the cars drivability: I was smelling antifreeze and my resovoir had was cracked so I replaced it and now no more smell? So I guess that took care of that. Second, I have been trying to figure if my powersteering pump or rack/pinion is bad. When I try to turn the wheel left or right while the car is parked, its really tight. I changed the fluid and replaced the hose and its still the same. I dont want to mess with that lucas crap as its a temporairy fix....So that was just an issue I thought I would bring up as a future repair when I can fix it for sure. So what ELSE can I replace. No, I am not one to wait till it breaks because that kept leaving me stranded...Not an option in this case. So what else can be replaced? Just wondering. Thanks

After the tow truck to the shop and his bill I sure wish I had done it as maintenance instead of emergency repair.

Jim installed two new LCDs, cleaned, replaced bulbs, etc for $300 (two years ago) and did the work in 1 day. I mailed my cluster to him on a Monday and had it back on Thursday.

Also, before you send it out for a repair, look for a bad ground, bad plugs into it, and bad soldered joints on the boards first. It can be done yourself if you aren't afraid to tear into it, and it might save you some cash. http://www.batee.com is a good read on this.
Also, try to find someone local who you could do a quick dash swap to eliminate any doubt about needing a rebuild, first.
