84 digital dash problems

84 digital dash problems
went to go leave a parking lot today and when i turned on my car my digital dash wasnt working right. When i first turn it on all the lights come on and then sometimes either they all turn off or they start just lighting up in random orders... i got home and turned my car off for a second and disconnected the batttery and then reconnected it hopeing that would fix the problem and when i turned the key so just the dash came on it worked for a second and then started messing up again... i tried to disconnect the battery again but this time it didnt even work for a second.. any suggestions on what might be wrong??

Many times these issues are due to bad grounds, although there may be other reasons too. Here's a couple links to some dash repair info which should be helpful.

imm not sure if this will help or not but i also took it out later today for a drive and it was working fine... then on the way back it would turn off.. then restart kind of like it does when you first turn on your car...

On my '88, the bulbs were actually loose inside of the base that holds the glass part of the bulb. I could actually tap the panel and the lights would flicker or turn back. I was lucky and only had to replace the bulbs.
