I'm getting a "02" DTC on my A/C LCD screen when I perform the test. FSM says possible circuit fault at temperature door motor. Heater puts out just a little heat. Anyone had this code before? What can I expect? 94 cpe stock exc for 160 T-stat.
My guess would be that the motor is busted, but it could be the Programmer. Voltage is monitored so the Programmer knows the position of the temp door and an 03 code (you have the 02) would be an open or short in the wiring. I'd follow the Trouble Tree in the Service Manual to diagnose it - though it probably tells you to use a bi-directional scanner through the CCM link to see if it works. Absent that, remove the blower module on the Evaporator Case and look inside to see the Temp Door. Have someone operate the controls between 60 and 90 and see if the door moves. If it doesn't, try applying some pressure with a long handled screwdriver or whatever you can wedge in there. If you can get it to move so that it's blocking air flow to the Evaporator, see if your heat is back. If not, the Core is plugged up. Otherwise, if you get heat, remove the passenger's hush panel to access the motor and see what power and ground is on the schematic in your manual (it'll switch depending on whether it's opening or closing the door. Apply another source for that power and ground and see what it does. If it works, the motor is good and it's probably a Programmer problem. If it doesn't the motor needs to be replaced.
Forgot to mention that you will need to disconnect and reconnect the battery (or pull the fuse that provides memory power to the Programmer) after you disconnect the motor harness. When it restarts, there will be a brief delay while the Programmer learns the position of the Temp Door and nothing will work while that's taking place. In fact, if you can get the door to move manually, you might try removing power first and seeing if that doesn't get it working again.

Thanks for the info, I'll try that your procedure. I'd rather try everything else before pulling half the dash to get access to the motor door.
