Just installing my slicks and I noticed that there is less space in front of one tire than the other. They fill the wheel well a lot more than my dr's. Any suggestions, I have been thinking there is no adjustment for the spacing so I might have to add shims to the tight side.
That doesn't sound normal at all Fred.
Did you figure out why one wheel was flush with your fender and the other side was in an inch?
How big are these slicks?
I just happen to have spare control arms with new bushings so I am going to put them on this morning. I did have more toe in on that side but I have already taken care of that. The slicks are 28X10X15. Thanks for the reply's guys, I will keep you posted.
I want pictures!!!
Nothing should stop you from hitting the 11's now.
You emailed me and said that you might need me to bring one of your slicks to the track for you when we go.
Fred, you were in my car. Where would I be able to put a tire?
Maybe I could leave my spare at home and hang it under that back.
Too bad you don't have a set of street tires. I would make you an offer on your drag radials.

Fred
man your crazy. goodluck at the track. nitto's now slicks.
When is the last time you had it aligned? Sounds like either something is broken you have a lot more toe in on one side.
Just a quick hint, when you go for an alighnment be sure and go to a reputable shopl. I bought a 79 that pulled hard to the left but it had a worn tire on the left front the direction the car pulled too. Put new tires on the front and it still pulled bad to the left. Took to the shop and the ace guy who was running the shop put the car on the alignment rack and adjusted the front end. He said it was pefect, drove off and it still pulled to the left. Took it back and he rechecked it and said it wa perfect and he thought the steering box was worn.
Took it to the local roundy round garage and the mechanic raised it up and showed me some bent parts. (The other shop would not let anyone go in their work area).. Go to a good shop where you can inspect the work also. I was out about 60.00 for hte alignment and about 200.00 for bent parts. And then I had to go and get it redone but I did not go back to the first shop.
