Default Fishing Anybody??

The clutch slave saga continues. I finally got a good slave in and working But slave number 2 broke the rod and part of it fell in bell housing on my 89-6 speed. Tried taking inspection cover loose but no room at bottom to get anything out! Not a very big hole where slave cylinder goes in! Looking for a better idea than pulling motor! Anybody?? Thanks in advance

Could pull the transmission......that is a little a little better than pulling the engine.

It seems like it would be a little better than pulling the motor. I haven't pulled a ZF yet so I can't give too much input.
If that rod is steel the try a flexable magnetic rod to fish it out with. Like I said, I don't have a lot experience with the ZF6

Wow, this is the 2nd person to have it snap off.

I don't think these ZF clutch parts could get any shi**ier. Hopefully your throwout bearing doesn't break too.

Get a flexible magnetic wand, you should have enough room even with the fork in there. Harbor Frieght has this sort of stuff for cheap. Or Sears. There are also some where the magnet retracts until you want to use it, you push a button at the end. This keeps it from sticking to everything while you're snaking it in there.

I was wondering about the flexible magnet thing also. I ended up using my original slave pushrod on 3rd replacement slave because it is so much more heavy duty then replacements. This poor quality replacement part thing is a real PIA! Sometimes I'm tempted to go back to early Vettes but really love the C-4 handling!! Any body know if there is opening if I pull starter, doesn't really look like it?? Thanks for help.
