'89 hop up
Okay, here goes another question that probably has been asked a million times. Looking at trying to get around 385 hp out to the now stock L-98. What must be done and is it easier or less costly to go to a crate motor? Thanks for your help.

The stock "D" Al heads flow to about 350hp and pocket ported to over 400hp. Combine that with a good cam, valve train, intake & exhaust and you should be there. You've go mail on one set of mods that buld mid 300s. A guy in Cape Coral, Fl was running an '87 L98 in 12.0s (which would be very close) on the motor but went to the mini-ram and true 3" duals along with ported heads and custom grind to get there.
