Im going to put my `87 D44 rear suspension up for sale soon so I need to figure out what gear ratio I have in it. How do you do this? I know there`s some numbers somewere I just can`t remember were
If you are not the original owner you need to spin the driveshaft to check for sure. The amount of times it rotates before the wheel goes completly around will tell you what ratio you have.

If it's got the original ring and pinion and it came out of an '87 originally, it will be a 3.07. Counting the input to output turns as mentioned above will tell the tale. All '85 through '88 cars with the 4+3 transmission came with a D44 3.07.
May have spoke too soon. I see you dont have it dissasembled. Go with counting the turns and pick the nearest standard ratio to it. with the guy up there probably 3.07.
