Default weatherstripping

Is there a secret to installing upper door and top weaterstripping on c4's? Mine leaks at the upper corners and runs down into the floor just above the front speakers?

I believe they all leak in this area.
I have seen some gutters in the catalogs.
Don't know if they will help here though.
Mine leaks there also, but only if it is sitting out in the rain.
doesn't leak when i wash it or am driving it.

Someone put new stuff on, but it still leaks, I adjusted the latches to tighten the doors and that helped but it still leaks at the corners

Any idea if the "new stuff" was GM replacement weatherstripping or aftermarket? BIG difference.

OK, stupid question time. Which are you implying is better? I hear some aftermarket has lifetime warranty, but if it leaks...-Matt-

There is no question that GM weatherstripping is a better choice. The aftermarket weatherstrip is known to be hard (much less flexible), provide an improper fit, and leak. Yes, there is a price difference, but in my opinion, it simply is not worth the money saved. :nonod:

In 1995 GM changed the Header-A pillar weatherstrip. They added a drain hole in the pillar portion to let the water out. Chuck

Ok...so what I get from this is that the weatherstripping to get is from a 95 or 96??? I thought it was the same for 84-96. Is corvette-rubber a good place to get it from?

It is the same except in 95 they added the drain hole.I don't know if Corvette Rubber has a drain hole in the one they sell. Chuck
