Default LT1 Valve covers

Are the LT1 Camaro valve covers the same as the ones on a Corvette?

Depends on year, I think.

The F body has the AC on the passenger side on the camero (at least on some years?) so the pass side VC has a notch to allow for space requirements.

I recently installed an F body (aftermarket) set on my '95. Fit fine with two acceptions: The pass side notch is not needed.....and my alternator needed a little 'clearancing' to fit the drivers side.

The 'notch' would have worked perfectly on the drivers side.

He said they are from a 95 LT1 Camaro I want to put them on a 93 Corvette. Here is a picture, it looks like there is a notch on the one with the oil filler.

Thanks for the help.

Travis,

What type of VC do you have currently? Is it the composite (plastic) ones? If so, they're worth big bucks, you know?

The above stamped covers are the 'base line' covers for all center bolt heads. Even my ugly P/U has those!

Just a FYI

Yes I have the composite ones, I am looking for replacements because I am planning to do some mods and do not want to cut the drip tabs off the ones I have. I may want to go back to stock some day so I plan to keep all the original parts unmodified, except possibly the exhaust but even that I plan to cut where I need to attach the headers bullet cats and X pipe to the stock mufflers.

Still looking for direct bolt on replacements for a reasonable price if there is any such thing. I guess my next choice would be something really cool looking for no more than stock goes for. Any ideas?

Travis,

Those shown in the pic you posted should work for you. They have the PVC and filler one one side (passanger) and plain on the drivers side. They look identical to my old stamped steel ones. I'd say go for those if they're cheap.

who'dathought that plastic would be worth more than aluminum. The factory covers for a 93 are painted aluminum and in my opinion better looking. Putting those camaro/truck covers on would look like s*** and kill the value of your car. If you must, go with chrome or billet aluminum, they look good and are cheap ($20-$100pr.)

Just cut the drip tabs. No one will ever know if you go back to stock.

I have not seen any that will fit without modification for under $100 I guess I need to look harder. Not modifying for value but I would like it to look better if I cannot keep the stock look. Then again $150 extra for pretty valve covers is not in my budget, they won’t make it any faster after all.

I was thinking about this option too. If I did go back to stock with them cut how would that affect the lubrication? I assume the tabs were put there for some reason.

If they fit that sounds like a great deal to me. Thanks.
