Sorry guys. I heard back from the vendor today. It is a no go. My contact could not get approval from his boss. It is also my understanding that the best price of $469 posted here is below their cost.
I tried and he tried. I had hoped striking up some interest would help influence the powers to be. Maybe I should have waited to get word before I got everyone excited.
If Sam Taylor Buick Cadillac can sell the cam kit for less than your vendor's cost, they may be able to give a good deal on the cam only. The phone# is 850-243-8826, ask for Jason and he'll hook you up. He's great to deal with and if I buy more GMPP I would definitely call him first.
I just called Sam Taylor Buick Cadillac at 850-243-8826 and they will sell the cam for $168. They said they sell at GM cost and any GM part. I don't know how that would work. The are in Florida BTW. Talk to Jason.
If a GM dealer sells over a certain dollar amount of GM Performance Parts they get a $50K "bonus", they must just be blowing out quantity. I told the GM dealer that did my motor work what I paid for my LT4 stuff and he said that was cheaper than his cost.
Sam Taylor sells LT4 stuff on eBay all the time... he was selling heads and intake for $1369 so I called them and worked out the package deal on my parts. In addition to low prices, Jason is great to work with.
