my old 383 had one.
the chip was programmed to recognize (or ignore, should i say) the knock sensor and it did not cause a problem with mine.
when building the new 383, i opted out of reusing the gear drive. while i loved the sound of it initially, it did get old after a while and made diagnosing ANYthing under the hood by sound all but impossible. i kind of lost interest in it myself, but if you want one,
mine was the pete jackson brand, FWIW.
