Throttle position Interface Module - explain its function?
Know about TPS function, just came across the throttle position interface module...manual doesnt describe it intended operational function...can anyone explain it to me? (94 LT1 6speed)
According to the 93 Helms manual (I know you're asking about a 94).
The TPS Module is located on the right side next to the blower case.
The Module is used to allow the EBTCM to read the TPS signal.
The EBTCM uses the signal for determining potential adjuster assembly requirements for engine torque management.
The TPS Buffer Module
1) Scales the TPS signal.
2) Resolves ground differences between the ECM and EBTCM
3) Buffers the signal so the TPS signal to the ECM is not affected by the EBTCM.
The 93 manual shows the location of the TPS Module in the same place as the diagram you posted for a 94. Two bolts mount the TPS module to a bracket that appears to be bolted to the firewall.
thanks, the 95 manual shows it in the same position, but I have a 1995 and 1996 car here for reference and NEITHER of them have that module (at that location anyway)
