Pete K is sending me a 9.5" converter for the 383 that'll be goin' in the Mighty Crossfire this weekend. He was really helpful in getting me spec'd out for my application Thanks Pete
The car is a DD so it's 2500 stall. Not sure about the flex plate, it is meant for a 383 build since that's what i'm installing. The Cam is a Crane 2040 and i'm pairing it with 1.6 roller rockers, also Crane. With the high flow velocity on the intake, paired up with the Dart heads(180) it'll make lotsa torque.
rumor has it....they are "less expensive" than a Vigilante its not cheap, just inexpensive.
You cannot take anything away from Vigilante. Strong product and reputation. They make a dmn fine converter. They also use a billet back. This billet back is responsible for a couple hundred dollars of the price.
We feel that the billet back is overkill 99% of the time. If truley needed, we can add it as well. My own car does not have the billet back.
By using the standard back and a custom stiffening ring, the durability is great, as is the lower price.
