about a year ago my mothers on my mothers '94, when you would hit the brakes the abs light would come on and the brakes would pulse constantly. Then it mystericly fixed itself.. now she is trying to sell the car and the problem is back. What is this and can I fix it or will it have to be a dealer job?
I had a Blazer that did that (sometimes the ABS would activate when not needed). Found a cut wire to one of the wheel sensors. A loose connector at a wheel sensor would do the same thing. Either a cut wire or loose connector would be easy to spot from underneath.
My Pontiac 2000 Grand Prix GTX had the ABS light come on and the ABS was totally deactivated. Turned out that it was a wheel sensor coil out of resistance spec. range. Cost $50 for diagnosis and about $150 to replace the wheel bearing/ABS sensor assembly. I believe they're separate on a Corvette.
Good luck.
