Solid Rear - Take your guesses.....
About the rollbar main hoop, the local guy flunked it, the chassis builder appealed to the Div. Tech. Insp., he upheld it and it went to NHRA Hq. and they upheld it! Rulebook was written for no-frame Camaro, Nova, Duster types most likely. I believe it actually started with one of the fast C5 racers at Etown (can't remember who but it was on this forum), try a search 'cause it was a big deal.
Dave
We have a guy that races at Keystone that does the inspections and I think Corky knows him pretty good. Perhaps I will have him eye up mine and see what he says.
With my cars weight and stuff I highly doubt I will be pushing into the 9s very often....I think in the late fall it will run it, but not in the summer heat, so I should be ok.....until I get the itch for a BB 632 or something crazy! A that point I will need to rethink everything anyways.
Leaving work now to go load up the car and hit the road.......god I have butterflys!
Fubar....look us up when you get there....white avalance, white vette is what we will be in.
he did a 1st rate job on the straight axle install too. took the time to do it 100% right and it shows...looks beautiful....
my deville only ran 15.4x tonight at 92mph - personal best is 14.76 at 95.06mph at NYIRP though...all i changed is the catback and i know i didnt lose seven tenths on a catback...so something else is up...
will run the car back at NYIRP to confirm whats up...jesse says the track is typically 3mph or so slower...which would put me right back at 95mph and presumably right back into my ET range...
even still it was loads of fun...let me know when you guys are coming back down and i'll try to meet up again!
P.S. - you are in for a load of crap to shoehorn a big block in there jesse...but compared to the straight axle its a walk in the park... - notch crossmember, HVAC cover. and move steering rack forward by cutting and re-welding the mounts...everything else is already done in your case...moving the steering rack is optional if you run a single groove crank pulley, but odds are you'll want a serpentine or cog drive...good luck if you go that route!

here is the thread...his post has a link to the install of his 22gal fuel cell. it sits in the stock mounting rails and fits behind the fascia...looks totally stock...
www.shracecraft.com he stated "Rob" is the owner - should have more info on the vehicle as well if you can get in touch with the right people there. they did the install...
