i would say it depends on your driving habits..some of us have lead feet. some of us have extreme performance parts and are no longer any where near stock condition.to do a comparison from car to car. so the amount of mods. made also plays in the equation. I'm getting somewhere in the mid twenties around city to low 30's on extended highway driving.
I would say if you are worried about gas this may not be the car for you. I like to run premium. You could be well served running some japanese rice burner for better gas mileage. But you won't ever be as cool.

Reason: forgot mileage info.

Albeit I get under 10MPG city and probally 15 highway, with a 383ci different tranny gears and 3.73's out back gas mileage doesn't matter to me, its a weekend driver anyway and I like to have fun with it.
Depends.. highway with the cruise on, or just in general..
I havn't reset the average MPG in my car since I got it in February and it says I'm averaging 18.5 The car has had the intake off twice and heads off once since I purchased it and has spent plenty of time idleing and 'testing'. Lots of peddle to the metal through the gears to make sure everything is all set..
My commute to work every day is 95% highway though and with the cruise set on 75 - 77 I see 29 - 32 MPG
I'm pretty sure if I reset the average MPG and behaved myself I could average 22 or better over the course of a month.. ( the problem is behaving myself for that long )
My average since new is 20.5 mpg that using the 3.45 gear set. That milage is since new and over an 11 year period of 40,000 miles. I just changed to a 4.10 gear set so I expect to see around 18 or so.
Stock 1986, A4, w/3.07. I avg. 14 mpg city and around 17 if I add a lot of highway driving. I got it up to 20 mpg once, coaxing the gauge on the highway.
