Default Broken Door Spring

FACK. The door spring snapped on the drivers side today. Can it be replaced seperately or is a new hinge in order. Any Idea where to obtain one. Oh yeah it's an 88 on the drivers side.

Thanks,
Brian

You mean the door brake? They can be purchased seperately. I've seen 'em in MAM, Eckler's, etc...

Yes, You can replace just the door spring. I have done this a few times on some C3's. There is also a special tool you really should get to make the job easier. It is no more than a large flathead screwdriver with a bend in it...

Here is the spring you need for you '88

and here is a pic of the install tool, you can purchase at www.corvettecentral.com or fashion one yourself using a sacrificial screwdriver....
