I replaced the intake gasket yesterday and replaced the Iac motor today.I did the reset like the Fsm calls for.It idles fine until it get hot then the idle starts surging.I can be stopped and it will be idleing at around 500 rpms and then it will surge up to 800 or 900.Every once in a while it will stumble and splutter for a couple seconds then start idleing again.Anyone have any other ideas to try.
Just checked it no codes. It idles fine in park at around 18 to 20 steps on the Iac.When I put it in drive and hold the break it will surge to 70 or 80 sometimes as high as 130 steps.Put it back in park and it does fine again.Something is calling for more air than it needs when it is under a load.
How about if you put it in drive and not step on the brake? If you have a leak in your brake booster diaphragm, it would become a vacuum leak when you step on the brake. The IAC may be fighting to control the idle speed in the presents of a vacuum leak and over running the target RPMs, and then cutting back. Otherwise have you cleaned the IAC and IAC passages in the TB lately? Idle problems most often involve an air or vacuum leak of one sort or another.

RACE ON!!!
The problem with this is that it idles fine and steady with the Iac unhooked when I put it in drive and hold the brakes.
