I have always had great luck with interstate batterys, They are around $75. Now I want to buy an 11lb Braille auto battery they are 250.00. I will be buying one soon. I had a draw one time in my car, It was hell on the interstate battery. I bet I drained it 20x's or more and it still will hold a charge and its about 4years old.
In my mind the only battery you should ever get for a sports car is a dry-cell battery. Dry-cells weigh about 15 pounds as opposed to 35, and since all of the car's abilities depend entirely on its weight, there's absoloutely no reason to be carrying around that extra 20 pounds in a sportscar.
I bought a 15-pound Odyssey battery online for $125. I bent a couple strips of aluminum to hold it in place laying down in the battery tray, and drilled a hole in one of those strips to put the stock battery bolt through.
I killed that battery within a couple months out of my own neglect; if you get one of these batteries you must be careful not to abuse them by running them all the way down, or they will go bad. It's best to not draw power from them at all when the car is not running.
I'm buying another one as soon as I get my car back together.

Interstate makes a superior battery. My last one was about $75.00. I buy them from a local Auto Electric expert. His batteries aren't sitting on the shelf deteriorating like some auto supply stores. Some batteries are old when you buy them off the shelf.
Not to interupt but I use a red top optima. How can you tell when the battery is deteroating on the shelf? How else would they store them besides on a shelf?
I'm a Optima yellowtop fan. I had one sit in my garage for a year and a half and when I threw it in another car, it cranked over and started like it was brand new. You could run your stereo and lights for hours on end and it would have no effect on it.
I use a Champion battery purchased from SAM'S Club. I never had any problems In all three vehicals I own. I do watch the date codes to make sure they are not to old and their folks will even load test it before I buy it. The one in my truck is going on 3 years now, no problems. Price for a 800 cca was about 65 bucks.
I have been using Optima' for some time now and wouldn't use anything but. On my 90' I had to cut one of the posts off so as it wouldn't short out, but I kept the post and if anything happens to the battery, i.e. warranty a issue, I will stuff it back on.
